The Pulse of Identity: Rhythm, Voice, and Tradition
Conducted by Noemí Pasquina, this Vallès Symphony Orchestra programme explores music as a reflection of identity, memory, and roots, bridging tradition and modernity. The evening opens with Ethel Smyth’s anthem of collective empowerment and ventures into contemporary creation with the world premiere by M. de Jorge, merging Iñaki Bermúdez’s virtuosic saxophone with the vibrant choral textures of the Cor de Noies de l'Orfeó Català.
This same spirit of identity then transforms into a high-energy celebration of folk rhythms and ancestral dances. Through the brilliant orchestral lenses of Rimsky-Korsakov and Khachaturian, we journey through stylized traditions before ultimately reconnecting with local heritage in Salvador Brotons’ deeply moving work. A compelling voyage where voice, rhythm, and orchestra unite to speak of what defines us.
